Large Nongaussianity from Nonlocal Inflation

چکیده
We study the possibility of obtaining large nongaussian signatures in the Cosmic Microwave Background in a general class of single-field nonlocal hill-top inflation models. We estimate the nonlinearity parameter fNL which characterizes nongaussianity in such models and show that large nongaussianity is possible. For the recently proposed p-adic inflation model we find that fNL ∼ 120 when the string coupling is order unity. We show that large nongaussianity is also possible in a toy model with an action similar to those which arise in string field theory.

Predictions for Nongaussianity from Nonlocal Inflation
In our previous work the nonlinearity parameter fNL, which characterizes nongaussianity in the cosmic microwave background, was estimated for a class of inflationary models based on nonlocal field theory. These models include p-adic inflation and generically have the remarkable property that slow roll inflation can proceed even with an extremely steep potential. Previous calculations found that...
متن کاملInflationary NonGaussianity from Thermal Fluctuations
We calculate the contribution of the fluctuations with the thermal origin to the inflationary nonGaussianity. We find that even a small component of radiation can lead to a large nonGaussianity. We show that this thermal nonGaussianity always has positive fNL. We illustrate our result in the chain inflation model and the very weakly dissipative warm inflation model. We show that fNL ∼ O(1) is g...
متن کاملLarge Non-Gaussianity Implication for Curvaton Scenario
We argue that the energy density of a light scalar field should not be less than H in the inflationary Universe. This requirement implies that the nonGaussianity parameter fNL is bounded by the tensor-scalar ratio r from above, namely fNL < 522·r 1 4 . If fNL = 10 , inflation occurred around the GUT scale.
متن کاملHalo clustering with nonlocal non-Gaussianity
1 We show how the peak-background split (PBS) can be generalized to predict the effect of nonlocal primordial non-Gaussianity on the clustering of halos. Our approach is applicable to arbitrary primordial bispectra. We show that the scale dependence of halo clustering predicted in the peak-background split agrees with that of the local-biasing model on large scales. On smaller scales, k * 0:01h...
متن کاملCosmological Perturbations and Non-Gaussianities in Hořava-Lifshitz Gravity
We investigate cosmological perturbations and non-gaussianities in Hořava-Lifshitz theory of gravitation. In the UV limit, the scalar perturbation in Hořava theory is naturally scale-invariant, ignoring the details of the expansion of the universe. Thus one may relax the exponential inflation and the slow-roll conditions for the inflaton field. Moreover, in the absence of slow-roll conditions, ...
